In this guide, you will learn how to connect your free Gmail email or Gmail Alias as an email sender with SalesBlink to use in your cold email sequences. πŸ“§

Please note that sending cold emails from a free Gmail account is a bad idea as most emails will end up in spam. ⚠️

But it might make sense if:

  • You are just getting started.

  • You want to test out how SalesBlink would work.

  • You plan to send less than 10-15 emails πŸ“§ a day.

  • You don't care about using your brand domain.

Note: If you are looking to connect Google Workspace (GSuite) email address, refer to this guide. If you login from gmail.com but your email address does not end with @gmail.com it's most likely a Google Workspace email.

Connecting Free Gmail with SalesBlink

1. Enable IMAP & Create an App Password

  1. Login to your free gmail account.

  2. Head over to "Settings" then click on "See all settings"

3. Head over to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP", check "Enable IMAP" and click "Save Changes".

4. Now head over to "Manage Your Account" by clicking on your profile icon on top left.

5. Navigate to "Security" & enable "2-Step Verification". (skip this step if it's already enabled) πŸ”’

6. On top, you will see a search bar, type "App Passwords" and select the option that says "App Password". πŸ”‘

You will be greeted with a page like this,

7. Enter the App Name as "Salesblink" and hit "Create".

8. Copy the generated app password and store it in a safe place. πŸ”’

Now that we have our app password for the free Gmail Email, we are ready to connect the email address to SalesBlink. If you wish to connect an Alias, then move on to step 2, else hop on to step 3.

2. (optional) Configuring Gmail Alias

  1. Head over to "Settings" then click on "See all settings and navigate to "Accounts & Import".

  2. In the section "Send mail as", click on "Add another email address".

3. Enter your name & email address that you wish to connect as an Alias.

4. Hit "Next Step" and verify your alias email address in Gmail.

5. Once verified, it will be visible in your "Accounts and Import" settings.

Now that we are ready with our alias, let's move on to step 3 to connect our email address or alias email.

3. Connecting Free Gmail or Gmail Alias with SalesBlink

  1. Navigate to Email Senders & click on "Add Sender".

  2. Select "Free Gmail"

3. Enter the details as follows:

Your Name: This is your name as displayed to the receiver
Sender Username: Your Free Gmail Email or Gmail Alias Address

Sender Email Address: Your Free Gmail Email or Gmail Alias Address
Sender Password: The App Password you generated

SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465

IMAP Host: imap.gmail.com
IMAP Port: 993

4. Hit "Next" and your email address will be connected. βœ…

5. (optional) Set your email signature. ✏️

6. (optional) Enable Email Warmup πŸ”₯for better deliverability.

7. (optional) Enable email sender in Unified Inbox. πŸ“§

You can now use your Gmail email address to launch cold emails sequences.

There are a couple of ways to go about this:
