A macro is a text placeholder that gets replaces by data of the prospect at the time of sending emails.

Can I add macros in subject line?

Yes, you can add any text macro in your subject line.

What's the format for adding Macros?

Here are some examples:

Field Name - Macro
First Name - {{ first_name }}
Fav Pizza Type - {{ fav_pizza_type }}

I have added macros but It's not replacing with prospect data.

Make sure the data for that field, for that particular prospect is available, you can check the data for individual prospects in CRM.
Make sure the format is of type {{ first_name }} and not {{First Name}} or {{first name}} along with other wrong formats.
